Trains to Dortmund

Traveling to Dortmund by train is a great option for anyone visiting the city, as the city has several stations conveniently located around its center. To get to Dortmund, simply take a train from any station in Germany to the main station in Dortmund, Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. From there, you can use the public transportation network, such as the city's light rail services, to get to any destination in the city. 

Dortmund also has three smaller train stations: Bahnhof Dortmund-Mengede, Bahnhof Dortmund-Körne, and Bahnhof Dortmund-Aplerbeck. These stations provide access to the surrounding suburbs of the city, as well as the Ruhr Valley. However, for travel to the city center, Dortmund Hauptbahnhof is the best option. 

The public transport network in Dortmund consists of trams, buses, and light rail services. The light rail services provide convenient access to points of interest such as the Dortmunder U, Westenhellweg, and the Westfalenpark. The trams and buses provide even greater coverage for the city, connecting the city's various districts.

Signal Iduna Park: Whether you’re a fan of football, or just curious to experience the atmosphere of a German football game, Signal Iduna Park is a must-see. The stadium has a capacity of 81,000 and was once the largest stadium in Germany.

Dortmunder Abendmarkt: The culinary delights of Dortmund is best experienced at the Dortmunder Abendmarkt. This market is open at 6 pm each day and features many German delicacies, like sausage, pretzels, and bread. It's the perfect spot to try the local cuisine.

Botanischer Garten Rombergpark: If you're looking for a bit of nature, the Botanischer Garten Rombergpark is the perfect place. This park is home to over 7,000 species of plants and has been open since 1822. It's especially beautiful in the spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
