Arriving to Segovia, in Spain by train is an exciting experience. The principal train station is the Segovia-Guiomar Station, located less than 3km from the city centre. The regional train from Madrid is the best option, with a journey of approximately one hour and trains departing from Madrid every thirty minutes.
Once at the station, the main public transport to move around is the Municipal buses. There are several lines that connect the train station with the city centre and other parts of the province.
In the city centre, the main attractions of Segovia are within walking distance, like the Roman Aqueduct, Gothic Cathedral, or the Alcazar of Segovia. Additionally, there are several guided tours available that cover the most emblematic sites in the city.
A great way to start your visit in Segovia is to explore the ancient city walls, which are well preserved and a great place to get orientated. You can then proceed to the cathedral and the aqueduct, and from there discover the rest of the city at your leisure.
