For bike riders, Deutsche Bahn has a variety of options. Some German trains require reservations, whereas others do not. Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate these reservations at this time, so you must make your bookings directly with Deutsche Bahn.
- Bicycles:
Bicycles are generally allowed on Deutsche Bahn trains. However, it's important to check if a bike reservation is needed, especially on long-distance trains (IC, ICE, and EC). Reservations can be made online or at ticket counters.
On regional trains (RE, RB, and S-Bahn), bikes can be taken without a reservation, but it is subject to space availability. A special bicycle ticket might be required. - E-Bikes:
E-bikes are treated similarly to regular bicycles. They are allowed on trains, but the same rules regarding reservations and tickets apply.
Charging e-bikes on trains is not permitted, so ensure your e-bike is adequately charged before your journey. - All personal electric vehicles (PEVs) must remain powered off during transport.
PEVs should not obstruct aisles, doors, or emergency exits.
Shared or rented PEVs (like those from Lime or Bird) are generally not allowed within the DB system.
